Mogadishu (SD) – The Somali Federal Ministry of Health says they have quarantined Somali national traveling from China, via Addis Ababa in Mogadishu today.

A statement from the ministry said that the Somali citizen, whose name has not been released, is currently under medical examination and is being held in a private area.

“The ministry appealed to relevant authorities to take account of and take appropriate action against airlines that violate the guidelines issued by the Somali government on public health”. Said the statement.

The quarantined person traveled from China but arrived via Addis Ababa with Ethiopian airlines.

Although it has not been confirmed whether the citizen has Corona Virus (COVID19), the health ministry said the findings will be shared with the community.
