Balad(SD)-Reports from Gololey area about 7km north of Balcad district in the Middle Shabelle region say that there was a heavy fighting between AMISOM troops and Al-Shabaab militias.

Al-Shabaab fighters reportedly ambushed the Burundian contingent while driving through in the town of Gololey, which is under Balcad district, as a result, there were casualties of death and injury.

Al-Shabaab said in a statement that it had killed 14 Burundian soldiers and wounded eight others, although no one has independently confirmed the claims.

AMISOM has not yet commented on the casualties caused by the fighting.
