Dhusamareb (SD) – The Galmudug Electoral Commission said in a press release today, that they were formally starting the process of selecting members of the new parliament after they had resolved all the barriers.

The chairman of the committee who spoke to media in Dhusamareb district said that all the obstacles to the construction of Galmudug were resolved, especially in the selection of MPs.

He added that the dispute between the federal government and Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a has been eliminated.

In other news, the current Galmudug president Guelleh Haf, has restarted a Galmudug state process for the upcoming election there.

The President has announced his disagreement with the federal election process for his state, and as a result the federal government has suspended funds for the Galmudug leadership.

It will be interesting to see how the Galmudug election bans out in the long run, with both parties engaged in a political tit for tat.
