Galkayo (SD) – Galmudug President Ahmed Duale Guelleh Haf arrived in Galkayo on Thursday afternoon and has withdrawn from the agreement with the federal government soon after.

In a statement President Haf has declared that Somalia Ministry of Interior does not represent him in the Galmudug state building efforts anymore, due to the government interference with the Galmudug Electoral Commission.

Also, Haf has declared that he withdrew his confidence in the Galmudug formation committee, the committee were appointed by the Somalia Interior Ministry last October.

President Haf has called on the traditional elders and political stakeholders of Galmudug to attend a consultation meeting on 25 January 2020.

Reportedly, Haf is in Galkayo because elders from the city feel left out of the top positions in the new Galmudug State government, which they historically held.
