Dhusamareb(SD)-Reports from Dhusamareb district of the Galmudug regional state indicate that Somali government troops took over key areas controlled by militias loyal to Ahlu Sunna.

Reports from the town say that Ahlu Sunna has abandoned it’s biggest base in the district, and is gathering it’s forces at the residence of their leader Sheik Mohamed Shakir.

Government forces also blocked all roads entering to Dhusamareb, to ensure security throughout the district.

There are warnings about the Galmudug situation and ongoing military activities that could turn into fighting later.

In the last few days, government forces seem to be expanding their control  over areas previously controlled by Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a, taking control of Guri-el and Matabaan districts.
