Addis Ababa (SD) – A delegation led by the President of Somaliland is warmly welcomed in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The delegation was welcomed by Ethiopian Foreign Minister Dr. Aklilu Hailemecheal, held a joint press conference in the guest room at the airport, then move on to his Presidential Guest residence while in Addis.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prof. Prof. Yasin Haji Mohamud Harir (Faraton) accompanied by officials of the Somaliland embassy in Ethiopia, joined the president at the press conference.

The president is to meet African leaders on the sidelines of the African Summit to promote Somaliland’s independence bit.

Sources indicate some unnamed African leaders had shown interest in Somaliland’s bit for independence and are willing to propose observer status for Somaliland.

There also has been US led efforts in having Somalia and Somaliland presidents to meet and resume talks between Hargeisa and Mogadishu.

The Annual  African Union Summit is to conclude today in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
