Somalia: Opposition MP lose their security detail

Mogadishu(SD)-Lawmakers from both houses of the Somali parliament have said that their personal security forces have been completely taken away, which led to them not leaving their homes.

Senator Nura Farah Jama of the Upper House of the Somali Parliament has accused General Force Commander Gen. Odowa Yusuf Rage in taking away the members of the two Houses of the Somali Parliament personal securty.

Senator Nuura added that she had lost three of her security detail, and said she did not know the reason behind the decision.

She added that MP Hussein Arab Isse, lawmaker Prof Mohamed Omar Dalha and MP Abdi Kafi lost their bodyguards, without being told why.

 She appealed to President Farmajo for help , and she mentioned the Country’s Army Commander never responded to her request for information.

Reports indicate that well-known lawmakers bodyguards were also ordered to report at Villa Baidoa, but there aren’t other Parliamentarians who will confirm the report.
