Hargeisa(SD)-The 44th Session of the Somaliland Cabinet, chaired by the President of the Republic of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, accompanied by the Vice President of Somaliland, Abdirahman Abdilahi Ismail (Saylici), approved the National Employment Policy Commission today, and ministerial reports were heard by members of the cabinet.

The minister of internal affairs of the country gave a brief overview of the country’s security situation.

Also, the council has had a long debate and discussion on the amendment and supplementation of the Civil Service Law by Law No. 31-2004 and re-enacted for its approval.

The council of Somaliland ministers adopted a national recruitment policy prepared by the Ministry of Labor, Social and Family Affairs.

Finally, the council proposed the implementation of a public private partnership (PPP), and set up a committee to prepare it.

This cabinet meetings, though sporadic, can be useful in getting policy in acted, and are proactive, rather then the governing on the fly.
