Hargeisa(SD)-Wadani Opposition Leader Hirsi Ali Haji Hassan said the country has taken over the military, and appealed to them to be patient and not to be harsh.

Hersi said most of the country’s political positions were entrusted to the military, and pointed out that the military is intended for the enemy but that citizens do not need a strong hand.

He also suggested that the pay for the force be increased as the Somaliland army is the least paid and work in hard circumstances.

The Somaliland Interior minster Mohamed Kahin, in responding to Hersi said that western countries had great military leaders in history.

The debate took place at the inauguration of the new police chief, a former General in the military and comments were thrown about at the officials in attendance.
