Jubaland accuses the federal government of Isolation

Kismayo (SD) – Jubaland state of Somalia has in a statement accused the federal government of Somalia political interference and security interruptions in Gedo region.

Jubaland said the intervention caused a series of crises and social isolation, leading to the deaths of patients who were prevented from traveling to Mogadishu.

In the statement Jubaland said that Al Shabab easily exploited the situation in Gedo region and killed several officials, due to the federal government using its security forces for political purposes.

Jubaland statement comes as the UN representative in Somalia in a speech at the security council stated that federal troops deployed to Gedo pose threats to the peace.

The Federal Government of Somalia is in a political raw with the Jubaland state officials, and the two clashed in Gedo recently.
