Somali, Kenyan leaders agree on points after meeting in Nairobi

Nairobi(SD)-Somali and Kenyan presidents Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and Uhuru Kenyatta have held talks in Nairobi recently to sign a diplomatic agreement to restore relations between the two governments.

The news, which was published on state-owned media, the deal that was agreed between the two presidents is:

1. Re-establish normal relations between the two countries, strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

2. Return flights to Mogadishu and Kenya directly (not through Wajer) within a week.

3. Citizens with Diplomat Passports to Kenya is given Visa on Arrival.

But the president of the Somali government has said that these points and discussions with the Kenyan president will never affect the maritime case before the ICJ’s current case.

Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has arrived in Nairobi for an international conference organized by the United Nations, but talks between the two presidents have been maintained throughout.
