The US to provide emergency aid to the people displaced by the fighting in Las Anod

Las Anod March 04, 2023 (SD) – The US government announced that it will provide food and medical aid to people affected by the recent conflict in Laascaanood, Somaliland.

The US Agency for International Development (USAID) will deliver emergency food aid, nutrition support, and healthcare assistance to those displaced by the fighting in Laascaanood.

In a statement released on the US Embassy in Somalia’s Twitter account, the embassy posted:

According to international organizations, more than 185,000 people have been displaced in Laascaanood and its surrounding areas due to the recent fighting, and they are in need of urgent humanitarian assistance.

Somaliland also announced that it will provide humanitarian aid to those affected by the conflict in Laascaanood, with support from international organizations. Some Somali businesspeople have also pledged financial support to those displaced by the conflict.
