Puntland Forces Capture ISIS’s GPS Coordinator in Bari Region Operation

BOSSASO – Puntland forces have captured the head of GPS coordination for the ISIS group near the Kob-dexad area of the Bari region, who has been identified as Abdulrahim Ibnu Borosa, a native of Morocco.

A statement released from the counterterrorism operation stated: “The forces have captured the head of GPS coordination for the ISIS terrorists, who was arrested while in hiding. This man, who is from Morocco, gave his name as Abdulrahim Ibnu Borosa.”

Puntland’s Minister of Commerce, Ahmed Shire, who hails from the area where the man was captured, visited the location.

In a related development, two Somali members of the ISIS group surrendered to Puntland forces this morning in the Yalho area of Boosaaso district.

The capture and surrender of ISIS members comes as intense ground and air battles have been taking place in recent days in the Baallade hills, where the Puntland government has described its recent operations as final efforts to eliminate the ISIS group.
