Somalia files complaint against Kenya with IGAD

Mogadishu (SD) – The federal government of Somalia has announced that it has lodged a complaint against the Kenyan government with the Prime Minister of Sudan Abdalla Hamduk, the current IGAD chair.

The nature of Somalia’s complaint filed with IGAD against Kenya has not been disclosed.

Somalia’s Foreign Ministry posted on its twitter account today, IGAD’s response to Somalia, indicating that a IGAD Council meeting scheduled to be held next week in Djibouti, intends to discuss Somalia’s complaint.

The move comes as Somaliland President Muse Bihi paid a visit to Nairobi today, at the invitation of Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, the two leaders will meet on Monday, the Kenyan foreign ministry said.

The Somali government has previously accused Kenya of meddling in Somalia’s internal affairs, expelling its ambassador and summoning Somali ambassador to Nairobi.
