Deputy Prime Minister launches National Health Roadmap

Mugadishu(SD)-Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia Mahdi Mohamed Guled (Khadar) today officially unveiled the nation’s comprehensive health plan roadmap, allowing every Somali citizen to receive international health care.

Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Safiya Abikar Nur, whose ministry has prepared the National Roadmap for Health assurance, said the plan is for every Somali citizen to have access to quality health care so they will not be a burden on society.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the country has declared success today, since a special international health service has been launched in Somalia, reflecting its circumstances and adapting to the current global situation, he asked that everyone should work together in participate in exploiting the new health roadmap.

At the announcement ceremony of the National Health roadmap, ministers, parliamentarians, Turkish and Italian ambassadors and Qatar-based ambassadors based in Mogadishu, officials from WHO, UNFPA, and UNICEF were all present.
