Hargeisa (SD) – Ahmed Nur Guruje, a member of Somaliland’s newly elected House of Representatives, was seriously wounded in the town this morning.

Sultan Saleban Boqor Osman was reportedly wounded Ahmed Nur Guruje, and was taken to a medical facility in Hargeisa for treatment.

The Assailant and MP Guruje have been at loggerheads in the past, with the two men repeatedly airing accusations, leading to today’s attack.

The Speaker of the Somaliland House of Representatives Abdirizak Khalif Ahmed visited MP Guruje, at his home in Hargeisa this afternoon.

The speaker promised that as a council, that the law and order and the government would end the dispute that caused the lawmaker’s injury.

Somaliland Authorities have not yet commented on the incident that injured a member of the Somaliland House of Representatives, the incident has caused a great deal of controversy in Hargeisa and on social media.
