Farmajo & Roble reconcile over lengthy dispute

Mogadishu (SD) – After a lengthy discussions last night and today, President Farmajo and Prime Minister Roble finally reached an agreement on their long running feud over key political issues.

Somali government spokesman Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimu, who spoke to the media, said the two officials agreed on the contentious issues.

1- said In view of the delay in the election timetable, the leaders agreed to expedite the electoral process.

2- To cooperate fully with the security agencies of the country, to ensure the security of the elections and to fight terrorist groups.

3- That Minister of Security Abdullahi Mohamed Nur continues his work.

4- That General Bashir Goobe, who was previously appointed by Roble as NISA Commander, be appointed Minister of State.

5- Yassin Farey to remain NISA’s acting commander, pending Farmajo’s appointment of new commander through Cabinet.

6- That the case of Ikraan Tahliil Farah be left to the judiciary.

President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen has succeeded in ending the feud between the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and the Prime Minister of the FGS Mohamed Hussein Roble, according to a statement from the South West Administration.
