Hargeisa (SD) – Somaliland MP Barkhad Jama Batun has fulfilled a campaign promise to build a MCH in Daami and today handed over all the money raised and land for the nursery.

Lawmaker Barkhad Batun from Daami district, where a large marginalized community resides, has a great need for this public service.

“Today we laid the foundation stone for a nursery in Daami and named it Mamo Halimo. The nursery is Mamo Halimo British Nursery,” the lawmaker told reporters at the site.

Mamo Halimo, who resides in Britain, recently handed over $ 20,000 to Barkhad Batun, which he said will be used to build a nursery in Daami.

The deputy mayor of the capital, who also attended the ground-breaking ceremony, said “The work of MP Barkhad and Halimo has gone down in Somaliland’s history and as a local government, we are ready to play our part.”
