Minister of Defense and Amb. Bankole discusses African Union Mission

MOGADISHU (SD)-The African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace, and Security Ambassador Bankole Adeoye, along with his delegation met with the Somalia Minister of Defense, Abdikadir Mohamed Jama, in Mogadishu today.

According to released statements about the meeting, the two parties discussed and reviewed the national security measures in the country, the on-going elections, and the upcoming African Union Mission (ATMIS).

“I had a fruitful meeting with a delegation led by the Chairperson of the African Union Commission for Political, Peace and Security, Ambassador Bankole Adeoye,” said minister Jama.

“We have discussed the security situation in the country, the elections and the new African Union Mission in Somalia (ATMIS),” he added in a released statement.

The minister commended the African Union Mission in Somalia for their enduring and persistent efforts in restoring stability in Somalia.

The delegation led by Ambassador Bankole, arrived in Mogadishu yesterday and had a series of meetings with government officials starting with the Prime Minister, Mohamed Roble.
