MOGADISHO (SD) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today held a welcoming meeting with the nominated members of the Federal Government of Somalia, congratulated them on their appointed positions.

The President praised Prime Minister Hamse, for his extensive consultation efforts in building a quality government that can fulfill the aspirations of the Somali people.

Hassan Sheikh Mohamud urged the Cabinet to focus on ensuring security, drought relief, reconciliation, completing the revision of the constitution and improving governance as well as improving Somalia’s diplomatic relations with the world.

The Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamse Abdi Barre, today announced his long awaited cabinet members of the new government, with some members of the previous government returning while new ones became part of the new cabinet.

The new cabinet is made off 26 ministers of the Somali government, with even many more Deputy and Ministers of State.
