Mogadishu Jan 01, 2023 (SD) – The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, in a televised speech today, asked the Somali people to support him in restoring the honor of the Somali people.

President Hassan Sheikh said that 2023 will be the year the country will be liberated from Al Shabaab and the government will focus on services and development.

The president requested that the Somali people no longer look down on themselves, vowing to ensure as much as he can their ambitions to rejoin the world.

The president concluded this request with a speech in which he summarized the progress his government made since he took office seven months ago.

The president did not mention the ongoing deadly clashes between Somaliland forces and protestors in Lasanod.
