Hargeisa (SD) – Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi has appointed a new committee for the Wajale to Berbers Highway project known as Berbera Corridor.

The appointed committee consists of six members, four of whom are Engineers.

The presidential committee seems to sideline the country’s Ministry of Transport and Road Development and is completely been cut off from its oversight role in of the project.

The Somaliland Government forwarded the announcement notice to the UAE as that country and its DP World group is funding the project.

The first portion of the corridor was recently unveiled by the president.
