The ICJ court to reopen the Somalia vs. Kenya maritime case

Hague(SD)-The International Criminal Court (ICJ), based in The Hague, has announced it will reopen the Maritimes case between Somalia and Kenya governments in early November.

The court has outlined the conditions for journalists, diplomats and members of the public who want to attend the hearing.

Diplomats and journalists have to submit their application by the 24th to apply for recognition at the court and have the opportunity to attend the hearing.

In the statement, the court stated that the first round of hearings would take place from November 4 and 6.

The court has postponed the maritime trial between the two countries at the request of the Kenyan government, On the other hand, efforts are underway by the Kenyan government to resolve Somalia’s case through negotiations instead.
