Mogadishu(SD)-Reports from the Lower Shabelle region indicate that US planes supporting the government troops targeted al-Shabaab bases in the Lower Shabelle region, particularly in the Mubarak and Janaale areas.

Somali security forces say 21 al-Shabaab militants were killed in a bombing at a garrison in Mubarak, foreign Al-Shabaab fighters were among the dead, according to Somali officials.

He also added that there was a second shelling in Jaale area on the outskirts of Marka, were lots of damage was inflicted.

Al-Shabaab has not yet commented on the reports by government troops in Lower Shabelle region in a bid to target al-Shabaab bases in Mubarak and Janaale in the region.
