Beledweyne(SD)-Reports from Jalalaqsi district in Hiraan region say that an operation by the Somali federal government on the road between Bulo Burde and Jalalaqsi killed 20 al-Shabaab members.

Jalalaqsi district commissioner Mohamed Nur Agajoof said the Somali military ambushed al-Shabaab militiamen who were driving into the city and killed all the al-Shabaab members in the vehicle.

The governor also said that they confiscated the militant’s 18 handguns and ammunition, adding that they will show it to the media in the hours to come.

He also pledged to continue operations against al-Shabaab militia.

Al Shabab has yet to comment on this latest killing of their militants in Jalalaqsi.
