Dhusamareb (SD) – Four key candidates rejected Galmudug’s presidential election and accused the Somali federal government of hijacking the election process.
Abdirahman Mohamed Hussein Odowa, Abdullahi Farah Weheliye, Kamal Dahir Gutale and Abdi Dhere, all candidates for the Galmudug presidency, unanimously announced their decision.
Meanwhile, the candidates accused Galmudug’s speaker of the Parliament of splitting the presidential election committee, and had sided with one group, therefore can’t be trusted.
Candidates called on the Galmudug parliamentary chairman to re-unite members of the Galmudug presidential election committee, in order for all to re-gain confidence in the process.
On the other hand, the Ahlu Sunna group has rejected the Galmudug presidential election yesterday, accusing the federal government of kidnapping the election commission’s work.
