Parliamentarians accuse the federal government of blockade against Somaliland

Mogadishu July 20,2019(SDN)-Members of both Somali houses of parliament who originate from Somaliland have expressed their feelings that the Government of Somalia is engaged in restricting policies against Somaliland.

The lawmakers also condemned the blockade agreement that the federal government Somalia agreed with Saudi Arabia.

“A blockade has been imposed against Somaliland and the businessmen in the northern regions since President Farmajo took office.” said Hussein Arab Isse who held a press conference in Mogadishu today.

He also added that all aid agencies have been stopped in working in Somaliland.

The lawmakers also denied the deputy prime minister’s statement saying that the Somali federal government authorized to release a Saudi banned cargo ship and said the release of the ship was not the Somali Government’s doing.

The parliamentarians accusations comes days after the appointment of reconciliation committee with Somaliland by president Farmajo.
