Bossaso (SD) – Puntland government has executed two men convicted of the rape and murder case of Aisha Ilyas Adam in February 2019 in Galkayo.

Abdifatah Abdirahman Warsame and Abdishakur Mohamed Dige were shot dead in a public square in Bossaso.

Abdisalam Abdirahman Warsame, a brother of Abdifatah, was not executed for the rape and murder, for unknown reasons.

Puntland courts have already sentenced all three men to death.

It is the first case of its kind in Somalia that has been scientifically proven a rape case, and lead to conviction.
