Garowe (SD) – Senator Abdirahman Mohamed Mohamud Farole addressed the recent announcement by Federal Minister of Education Abdullahi Godah Barre, and warned against the government imposing sanctions on Puntland.
Abdirahman Farole speaking at press conference in Garowe, said the country’s constitution allows regional administrations to manage social issues such as education and health, and called for the constitution to be followed.
Abdirahman Farole accused the Somali government of using state resources to destabilize regional governments in the country.
The federal minister of education Godah Barre has recently announced that students from Puntland should do their high school diploma exams in Mogadishu.
The Government of Puntland State insisted that the students take the exams at their local schools and that the Somali Federal Ministry of Education should provide their diplomas.
