Somali government sends official statement on airspace violations to Kenya

Mogadishu(SD)-The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has summoned the Kenyan Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Somalia, Lucas Tumbo.

Minister of State Abdulkadir Ahmed Kheyri met with the ambassador at the Ministry’s headquarters, gave the ambassador a letter  complaining about Kenya’s airline violating airspace and ignoring direct flight ban to Kismayo on October 5, 2019.

The Federal Government of Somalia considers this action to be in conflict with the general principles of good neighborliness and Kenya should not interfere with the internal affairs of the government.

The Kenyan government is currently in a Maritimes raw with Somalia, and is also packing the Ahmed Madobe’ administration in Kismayo.

The Kenyan government is yet to respond to the Somalia’s assertion of violating it’s airspace by having direct flights to Kismayo.
