Hargeisa (SD) – UCID party chairman Eng. Faisal Ali Warabe, speaking on behave of the opposition, said he welcomed President Bihi’s offer to meet with the national opposition parties.

UCID Chairman Faisal Ali Warabe has apologized to the Somaliland public for the controversy over the election commission, which he said was wrong.

Faisal Ali Warabe said that the Somaliland public need to see progress and recognition, but does not deserve to be disturbed with election dispute.

President Bihi has reiterated his previous invitation to meet with the opposition parties to no avail, but the parties have finally accepted it.

A Somaliland Independent mediation committee has brokered a resolution accepted by all sides mired in the election dispute in Somaliland.

The Committee’s resolution proposes that the current contested election commission be dissolved and the previous commission be reinstated.
