Mugadisho(SD)-The Somali aviation agency has informed airlines that all international and local flights heading to Kismayo, the interim Jubbaland regional headquarters, as of today should go through Mogadishu.

It is not known why the Somali federal government has stopped direct international and local flights to Kismayo, But it comes a week after the controversial Jubaland elections, won by Ahmed Madobe.

Kismayo is home to many local and international flights, as well as other AMISOM and Kenyan military flights.

Federal Government of Somalia and Jubaland state governments are feuding , and there is a diplomatic tension between the governments of Kenya and Somalia, the country that has the most military in Kismayo.
