Hargeisa (SD) – UCID Interior Secretary Mahmoud Ali Ramah has been arrested today after he was accused of insulting Somaliland’s Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Ramah, who spoke to the media before he was arrested, said that he was threatened and intimidated before, and that he saw the detention as not a big thing.
Police commissioner of investigation Faisal Fais confirmed Ramah’s arrest, and noted that the Speaker of the House of Representatives Bashe Mohamed Farah accused him of shaming and insult.
“Mohamud Ali Ramah is accused of shaming and insulting the Speaker of the House of Representatives Bashe Mohamed Farah, he said that Bashe has ties to enemies of Somaliland, and the speaker of the parliament complained against him personally.” said Faisal Fais.
