MANDERA (SD) – News from Mandera, Kenya say that a car bomb had exploded at a public road outside of town, killing multiple.

The attacker opened fire on the car after a landmine exploded 8 km from Mandera town.

Seven civilians are said to have died in the blast, fearing the number of deaths could substantially increase.

Mandera security authorities are currently conducting an investigation at the site of the explosion.

Last week, several Western embassies in Nairobi issued warned of a terrorist attack on foreigners in the capital.

Also it is still unclear that the car was the target.
