Mogadishu (SD) – The President of the Jubaland State of Somalia, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, held a luncheon at the Guest House with AMISOM Force Commander Lt. General Jeff Nyagah and other officials from the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).
The President and the officials led by the AMISOM Commander discussed operations against Al-Shabaab and how to intensify and co-operate in joint operations.
The two sides agreed on the need to intensify operations against Al Shabaab, especially in those present in Jubbaland regions.
AMISOM troops, particularly from Kenya and Ethiopia, are in areas under the control of the Jubbaland administration, particularly in the Lower Juba and Gedo regions.
