Kismayo (SD) – The President of the Jubaland State of Somalia, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, has met with senior US military officials operating in Jubaland.
The meeting focused on ways to intensify the fight against al-Shabaab militants, with full co-operation to step up operations against terrorism.
The President was accompanied by Brigadier General Mohamed Abdi Sheikh, Commander of the Jubaland Forces and Colonel Mohamed Guled Hassan, Deputy Commander of the Jubaland Forces.
The U.S. military is supporting the Somali National Army in the fight against al-Shabab, providing training and equipment that has significantly improved the capacity of the SNA.
