El-DHEERE (SD)-Members of Al-Shabaab launched a brazen attack in El-Dheer district of Galgadud region, initiating a firefight with improvised explosive devices.

A fierce battle ensued between Al-Shabaab militants and government forces, resulting in significant casualties on both sides, including deaths and injuries.

Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that they targeted a military base in El-Dheer and inflicted heavy casualties on government troops while seizing weapons and ammunition.

Meanwhile, the Somali National Army and local militia forces reportedly defended against the assault.
