MOGADISHU-African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace, and Security Ambassador Bankole Adeoye arrived in Mogadishu today and was received by the Prime Minister, Mohamed Roble.
A released statement regarding the meeting stated that the Commissioner and the Prime Minister discussed the crucial role of AMISOM in safeguarding the country during the election period, and the enduring responsibility of the African Union in ensuring peace and stability in Somalia.
High-level officials from AMISOM, ministers, and members from the Prime Minister’s office attended the vital meeting with the Ambassador.
The ambassador also met with President Farmajo and ministers in PM Roble’s government
The visit of the Commissioner, Bankole Adeoye, comes weeks after the decision of concluding AMISOM duties.
