Blast in Mogadishu targets public transportation

MOGADISHU (SD) -Around 10 people were killed in an explosion in the Heliwa district of Mogadishu tonight.

The explosion, which was caused by a landmine, targeted public transportation, resulting in the death of at least 9 people, with many more injured.

Additionally, other individuals nearby were affected by the explosion, with eyewitnesses confirming that it was a landmine planted along the roadside.

Security forces and emergency response vehicles rushed to the scene to assist the injured and evacuate those affected by the explosion.

The Somali government has intensified efforts to ensure the security of Mogadishu. It’s also believed that the security of Mogadishu is crucial to the operations carried out by government troops in the country’s regions, as recent attacks on civilians have posed significant challenges.
