MOGADISHU (SD) – Puntland State president, Saed Abdullahi Deni has today arrived in Mogadishu ahead of talks between Federal government and its member states.
Deni who is at loggerheads with president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has dispatched his presidential elite security team armed with RPGs, to Mogadishu.
Last Wednesday, his closest ally, the president of Jubbland, Ahmed Mohamed Madobe landed in Mogadishu.
The sixth round of electoral talks between leaders of FGS and FMS are set to take place at the Airforce Hangar within Aden Adde Airport in Mogadishu.
With Puntland and Jubbaland leaders insisting the September 17 Agreement re-opened to include the Council of Presidential Candidates (CPC) which comprises 15 presidential candidates, talks may once again fail to yield a concrete agreement.
The two leaders also demanded the talks to be expanded to include demands by the opposition which include the exit of Famraajo from office and removal of senior security chiefs whom the opposition accuse of working at the behest of Famraajo.
Meanwhile, President Farmajo and his ally regional states including Galmudug, Hirshabelle and Southwest states want the upcoming forum to focus on the signing of the implementation process of the September 17 deal and to okay the Baidoa Framework agreed to by a joint technical committee.
