HARGEISA (SD) – Somaliland and Ethiopia have recently signed an agreement in Addis Ababa to train new police officers for Somaliland.
The agreement, announced on the Somaliland Police Force’s Facebook page, indicates that the parties have reached an agreement regarding the training of police forces.
“The Director of Police Training of the Somaliland Police Force, General Abdi Ahmed Teer, and the President of the Police Academy of the Federal Government of Ethiopia, Mesfin Abeba, have reached an important agreement on the training of the two police forces,” the police statement said.
The agreement follows a recent visit by the Commander of the Somaliland Police Force, Brigadier General Mohamed Adan Saqadhi, who met with the Commissioner General of the Ethiopian Federal Police, Commissioner General Demelashe G/Mechiel, as reported by the police.
