ERIGAVO (SD) -The Somali government today issued a peace appeal regarding the conflict in Erigavo, the capital of the Sanag region.
The Ministry of Interior and Reconciliation of the Federal Government of Somalia released a peace call to the parties involved in the conflict in Erigavo , as stated in a press release from the ministry.
The Somali government urged the conflicting parties in Erigavo to unconditionally cease hostilities that have resulted in significant loss of life and property, according to the Ministry of Interior’s statement.
“The conflict in Erigavo that has caused deaths, injuries, and widespread displacement must be stopped unconditionally,” the Somali Federal Government stated in their appeal.
Additionally, the government called on traditional elders and local administrations to take a stand in stopping the ongoing conflict in Erigavo and to work towards restoring peace and coexistence in the city.
