MOGADISHU (SD) – The Ministry of Internal Security of the Federal Government of Somalia has stated that it is closely monitoring the numerous abuses committed by Ahmed Mohamed Islam (Madobe) against the Somali people living in the Jubaland region.
His abuses, which have persisted for a long time, most recently involved an attack on the residents of Kulbiyow in the Lower Jubba region. These residents had organized themselves to resist Al-Shabaab.
However, unfortunately, Ahmed Madobe attacked them instead, inflicting killings, injuries, torture, and looting, according to the Somali government.
This incident follows similar actions he has taken in the cities of Kismayo, Ras Kamboni, Dhobley, and Afmadow.
Additionally, the accused Ahmed Madobe is actively working to create divisions among the people who are prepared to defend their regions from Al-Shabaab, as stated by the government.
The Somali government has expressed condolences to the families of those killed, injured, or kidnapped by Madobe in various parts of Jubaland.
“The Somali government is determined to eradicate such practices and bring to justice those responsible for these heinous acts,” said the statement from the Ministry of Internal Security.
