MOGADISHU (SD) – A press release from the Ministry of Internal Security of the Somali Federal Government praised the ongoing operations by Puntland forces against the ISIS group, particularly their recent successes in the fight.

The ministry described this effort as a crucial step in strengthening the overall struggle of the Somali people to defend themselves against terrorist groups that continue to attack the country and massacre its citizens.

The press release emphasized that the actions of terrorist groups clearly contradict Islamic Sharia, the Somali way of life, the country’s stability, and regional security.

The Ministry of Internal Security also expressed condolences to the brave soldiers who lost their lives in military operations in the mountainous areas of Al-miskat in the Bari region.

Finally, the ministry urged the Puntland State Government and the general public to support the forces in fully enhancing their efforts against terrorism.
