GAROWE (SD) -The city of Garowe, the capital of Nugal Region, welcomed the former President of Somalia, Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, and the delegation he led, who arrived earlier today.
Sheikh Sharif, accompanied by Members of Parliament from both houses of parliament, was warmly received at Garowe Airport by the President of Puntland State, Said Abdullahi Deni, Ministers, Members of Parliament, and many other citizens.
Former President of Somalia, Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, is scheduled to hold meetings with President Deni to discuss the political situation in the country and constitutional amendments, issues that both leaders have been vocal about.
Yesterday, the former President of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo, also arrived in Garowe and was warmly welcomed. Both former presidents have political affiliations opposed to the administration of President Hassan Sheikh.
Former presidents and the President of Puntland State, Said Abdullahi Deni, share concerns about the proposed amendments to the Somali Constitution. It is expected that they will hold discussions and make decisions collectively.
