The Governor of Qandala town in Bari region, Ahmed Yusuf Mohamed (Khurshe), spoke for the first time today about an airstrike that occurred last night in the Sixna area of Qandala district, which targeted a pastoralist family.
Governor Khurshe provided details, confirming the death of four people and the injury of six others, all from the same family, following the evening airstrike in the rural area of Sihna.
“Firstly, we extend our condolences to the affected family. We were informed of four fatalities and six injuries. May Allah have mercy on those who died and grant a quick recovery to those injured,” said Governor Ahmed Yusuf Mohamed (Khurshe).
Accompanied by units from the Puntland Darwish Rocket Brigade, the governor called on residents of rural areas near the Almiskad Mountains, where operations against ISIS-affiliated militants are ongoing, to relocate.
“We urge the people of Qandala living near conflict zones, where extremists are hiding, to move to safer areas under government control. What happened today is a tragedy, and we must prevent such incidents from recurring,” the governor emphasized.
He did not specify which forces conducted the airstrike but indicated that airstrikes are being carried out in areas suspected of harboring ISIS militants as part of efforts to eliminate them.
