Hargeisa (SD) – A free education program for women has been launched in Hargeisa, benefiting 250 women.
The women will be trained in handicrafts such as sewing, cooking and other skills, in collaboration with SOHASCO and UNFPA, and implemented by Y-PEER.
Speaking at the training, the director of SOHASCO said that 250 women will take part in the training and will be trained in tailoring, cooking and beautification skills.
Y-PEER executive director Mohamed Dhama and UNFPA youth director Abdiaziz Farah, who both addressed the launching, highlighted the need of skills in the development of the community, saying that it benefits the individual while at the same time contributing to the community.
Marodi-Jeh officials also spoke at the launch all expressed the importance of vocational training, especially for women, they added that it is important to improve vocational training, noting that professionals are taxpayers who can contribute much to themselves and the nation.
