Galkayo (SD) – Gunmen shot dead Mukhtar Tinle, a member of the Galkayo city council and another civilian in Puntland on Saturday night.

The victim was active in youth development and integration in Mudug region. he also was an entrepreneur.

Mukhtar was last seen advocating for Puntland students get their diploma from Somali federal government.

Galkayo city is experiencing an uptick in assassinations, in February, Abdirahman Nur Gesdir, a traditional leader and chairman of north Galkayo district was assassinated.

The Puntland state didn’t comment on the killing yet, the murders are usually claimed by Al Shabab.
