Galmudug president says foreigners killed in Ba’do battle

DHUSAMAREB (SD) – Galmudug President Ahmed Abdi Kariye Qoor Qoor gave details of the casualties suffered by Al Shabaab in the attack on Ba’do village under Adado District.

President Qoor Qoor on an issued statement on the battle of Ba’do, praised the administration, the people and the clerics of Ba’do district and the Galmudug Darwiish forces, for defending themselves from the Al-Shabaab attack.

President Qoor Qoor said Al Shabaab lost 70 of their fighters in the attack, including three foreigners, but did not disclose their countries of origin.

“The Galmudug government describes the defeat of the terrorist group as historic, and the courage shown by the Ba’do people should be emulated by the people of Galmudug and the Somali people in general,” the statement said.

The statement from the Galmudug presidency also said that after the attack, the Galmudug Darawish forces were operating in areas under the control of Ba’do district in pursuit of the remnants of Al-Shabaab.

Al Shabaab and Galmudug have issued separate statements on the casualties of yesterday’s clashes in Ba’do.
