Government troops clash in Mogadishu

Mogadishu (SD) – Reports from Mogadishu indicate that Somali government troops clashed in Wadajir district in the capital last night,

The fighting started late last night between military forces in the area and Harm’ad troops packed Somali police force.

Witnesses said the troops clashed as Harm’ad forces started an unexplained operations within the vicinity of the military troops.

At least two soldiers have been killed and seven others including civilians were injured in the clashes, according to reliable local sources.

On the other hand, the governor of Benadir region, Omar Filish and Police Chief Abdi Hassan Mohamed Hajar were able to stop the fighting late last night, however, these officials didn’t provide any details to the public about the fighting.

The situation is calm today, and normal traffic flow is reported in Kawo-Godey neighborhood of Wadajir district in Benadir.
